Tallyn's Reach Fireplace Open SpaceJoin a trauma-aware writing workshop. Ran by Krista Hanley, a survivor of the tragedy at Columbine High School and author of the new book “How to Survive a Mass Shooting: A Columbine Memoir”.
In this workshop, participants will explore themes of empowerment, self-confidence, and finding your voice. Through writing, readings, and reflection we will practice expression through memoir, fiction, poetry, or hybrid genres (any genre allowed). For adults and youth, these sessions are trauma-aware and inclusive. The writing exercises will allow participants to explore their personal histories, feelings, and relationships to the themes in a safe and supportive space. Any sharing is completely optional and voluntary. This workshop is presented by Krista Hanley, a survivor of the tragedy at Columbine High School. Her debut book, "How to Survive a Mass Shooting: A Columbine Memoir" (Motina Books 9/2026) explores her life before and after Columbine.
