Learn about Māori culture and make poi, the twirling balls used in dance.
Instructor Karley of Aho Amerika, a professional Māori weaving instructor, will teach a simple craft of making Māori poi. Poi are balls on string used in Māori dances and performances that are a fun way to hone rhythm and reflexes. This craft will take about 1.5 hours to complete and is appropriate for adults, teens, and patient kids ages 9+ with their parents.
